Senator Dahms and Representative Torkelson to Address 2024 Legislative Session at Town Hall Meeting


The residents of Lamberton and the surrounding areas are invited to a town hall meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The event will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lamberton City Hall. This meeting provides a unique opportunity for the public to engage directly with their elected officials, Senator Gary Dahms and Representative Paul Torkelson.

Senator Dahms and Representative Torkelson will present an overview of the 2024 legislative session, highlighting key accomplishments and legislative milestones achieved over the past year. They will also discuss their legislative priorities and goals for the 2025 session, providing insights into the issues and policies that will shape the future of the state.

Senator Gary Dahms represents District 15, encompassing Redwood, Brown, Lyon, Yellow Medicine, Lac Qui Parle counties. He has been serving in the Senate since 2010.  Senator Dahms serves on the Agriculture, Broadband, and Rural Development committees.  

Representative Paul Torkelson represents District 15B, which includes Redwood, Brown and a portion of Blue Erath counties. Serving in the House since 2008.  Representative Torkelson serves as the Republican Lead on Elections and Finance Policy, Ethics Rules, and Legislative Administration.

Both Senator Dahms and Representative Torkelson were Chief Authors of the state bonding bills for the City of Lamberton’s water infrastructure and street reconstruction funding.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and express their views on various matters affecting the community and the state. This interactive format aims to foster communication between the legislators and their constituents.
