Notice To Dog and Cat Owners

No person shall own or keep a dog or cat without obtaining a license from the City Clerks Office, whether they are indoor or outdoor pets.  Every application for a license shall be accompanied by proof that the animal has been given a vaccination against rabies that has not expired.  All animal licenses run from May 1st to April 30th.  The cost of the license is $2.00 per year.

All the following are considered nuisances under this Ordinance:

All cats and dogs not chained, kept within an enclosed area, on a leash, or under the direct control of the owner or adult agent.  Cats and dogs may not run at large.  All animals found running at large contrary to the provisions of this ordinance may be captured and conveyed to the designated pound and kept for five days or until claimed.  Animals may be reclaimed by payment of the impounding fee and if not licensed, the license fee.  The owner may also be charged with failure to obtain a license for the animal.

Animals which bark, howl, cry, or yelp so as to disturb any person in the vicinity.

An animal that commits damage to the person or property of anyone other than the owner or creates a nuisance upon the property of one other than the owner.

Any animal that has attacked or bitten a person outside the owner’s premise.

Any animal that is vicious or shows vicious habits.

Any person found guilty of violating this ordinance shall be guilty of committing a petty misdemeanor and may be fined up to $300.

Snow Emergency Parking for the City of Lamberton

The City of Lamberton has a snow emergency policy which will go into effect as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor.  Main Street and 2nd and 3rd Avenues from Main Street to the alleys east and west of Main Street will be a snow emergency route with no parking after 2:00 A.M. until the snow Emergency route is cleared.  There will be parking allowed on all other city streets while snow is being removed.  Once a street is plowed, vehicles must be moved by 10:00 pm to an area that has been plowed.  Vehicles may not be parked back in an area that has not been plowed.   The fine for a violation will be $50.00.
