The 9th Annual Hot Iron Days was held September 6th and 7th. The main event, “Sparks Under the Stars” was held Friday night where an estimated 300+ people gathered to watch the pour. According to Larry Hubert, 1,500 lbs of iron was poured Friday evening and another 800 on Saturday.

The 5K Run/Walk was held Saturday morning at 9 am with 26 people participating in this event. First place winner with a time of 19:15 was Forrest Asp of Waterville, followed by Troy Nickel of Edina with a time of 21:12, and Noel Wetter of Lamberton in third with a time of 23:12.

The 2013 Iron Pour medallion was found by Tim Osland. Clues began at 8am and the final clue was posted at 4pm. While playing in the volleyball tournament at the park, Tim noticed a six sided planter with flowers and decided to check it out. His effort paid off as he received $50 in Lamberton bucks.

Many other events were held throughout the two day celebration including “Ageless Iron” display of tractors, machinery and cars, sand volleyball tournament, digital scavenger hunt sponsored by RRC FCCLA, bike rodeo/safety course sponsored by Lamberton Police Dept, Blacksmithing professionals, Friends of the Library book sale, kiddie costume parade, and lots of food and fun!
